Cutting out Outlets on Backsplashes

Hey guys

I want to thank everyone ahead of time for their help.
I am a practicing apprentice and (http://maplered.com) have noticed that they guy I am learning from has done quite a many job that leaves me questioning his judgment and (http://maplered.com) capability. One aspect is the outlet holes. They are usually 4"x2" right? We all use 4" blades to simply cut out the small rectangle. Two cuts on the front of the backsplash for the horizontal lines and (http://maplered.com) two cut from the back for the vertical lines (this reffering to an outlet on its side) Of course sometimes we need to make cuts in both sides of the Stone (http://g603.net) (front and (http://maplered.com) back) in order to meet in the middle and (http://maplered.com) cut out the hole. I've seen this process many times and (http://maplered.com) he and (http://maplered.com) his crew always end up making very wide cuts that end up showing in the front of the backsplash and (http://maplered.com) weakend the Stone (http://g603.net) where it breaks very easily. They fill them in with epoxy yet the work is permanently affected and (http://maplered.com) in my opinion tarnished. Is there another way to do this? I am not a perfectionist but I think there has to be another way to do it in which we don't weakend the Stone (http://g603.net) and (http://maplered.com) cosmetically damage the look of the work.

thanks again guys

Alex
